Scam Numbers: (888) 661-4671 & (833) 388-1677
Carriers: Inteliquent (866), Callfire (833)
Dialer Used: ViciDial
Call Center Location: United States
Answers as: “Innovative Partners” or “the State”
The scammers sent a fraudulent text message to my Google Voice line with their (833) number, which is only set up for texting, to urge me to call their (866) number as my health insurance policy “needs immediate action.” I called and first got a guy who falsely claimed to work for the state, but when I called back, the lady revealed the true identity of her company as Innovative Partners, LP, a fraudulent medical insurance provider that appears to operate out of 1401 N University Dr, Coral Springs, Florida, 33071 or a Pakmail location in Boca Raton, Florida.
User complaints on their BBB and TrustPilot listings indicate patterns of fraudulent activity, such as:
- Refusing to offer refunds.
- Having their agents fraudulently pose as representatives from Covered California
- Charging premiums upfront and putting customers on endless holds when they have questions or attempt to cancel.
- Requesting the medical records of customers who want to cancel their existing plans.
- Having their agents fraudulently pose as representatives or affiliates for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
- Charging customers after they already cancelled their plans.
- Sending out illegal robotexts in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991.
- Quoting customers for $30, but charging them $329.
- Refusing to accept any insurance claims.
The company has been named in an ongoing TCPA lawsuit in the Northern District of Texas against MultiPlan, Inc. after the plaintiff, Lucas B. Horton of Richardson, Texas, received soliciting text messages on his cell phone, which is on the do-not-call registry, urging him to enroll in a health insurance plan. Horton identified Innovative Partners as responsible for sending these texts and selling MultiPlan’s policies as the direction of Multiplan after receiving a “welcome package” in the mail after purchasing the insurance policy.
Multiplan was also sued for violating the Telephone Consumer Protection Act in the Western District of Texas on December 28, 2020 after the plaintiff, Brandon Callier of El Paso, Texas, received multiple soliciting robocalls from spoofed similar numbers, which would also violate the Truth in Caller ID Act. The case was resolved on December 21, 2021 and dismissed on January 4, 2022.
