Health Insurance Bullshit - MULTIPLAN.US | AMERICAN SCUM

Text received earlier today from +1 (954) 539-8829 reads the following:

“Your health insurance requires additional information. To verify and avoid gaps in coverage call a live agent today at +1 (888) 615-7633. Reply stop to stop.”

+1 (888) 615-7633 answering as “Enrolment Centre” When I asked the actual company name he put forward MULTIPLAN PPO, not to be confused with MULTIPLAN (HPO??? Or something like that he said).

American male claiming that they work with all (unnamed/unidentified) 39 providers! Told me the URL was originally https://www.multiplan.com, however no site exists there. He then said to search up just “multiplan” but I still couldn’t find them, then told me their other website is located at https://www.multiplan.us/ (WORKS! FOUND THEM).

Also alleged they are the largest network in the country, doubt it!

“You have been added to the do not call list”

After the dude picked up speaking English, then switched to Spanish, and then asked if my sb spoke Italian or French. Total scumbag.

Received a text today similar to what you’ve reported. Mine was sent from the same number 954-539-8829
"Healthcare Exchange: Your insurance policy requires immediate action. Call now at 888-423-6433 to speak with a live agent today!

Reply stop to opt-out."
I called the 888 number and spoke with ‘Eddie’ who gave me an insurance number. He indiated he was with Healthcare Exchange. He told me the reason I’d received the text was that everyone that had healthcare was supposed to fill in a form by June 30th and that since I hadn’t filled out that form, this is why I received the text. I told him this sounded like he was a scammer. He assured me he was not. I told him he needed to give me information about me before I gave him any information about myself. He asked me my name but it was my previously married name of almost 10 years ago. Meanwhile, I was on my computer and did a search for "Healthcare Exchange’ and came up with multiple exchanges in California where I live. I told him that was my previously married name and he said, ‘oh, I see. You’re also known as …’ and gave my current married name correctly with spelling. I said I couldn’t find him on the internet and asked him several times to repeat his company. He said I wouldn’t find the company name online as they didn’t have a website. They simply referred people to healthcare organizations. I said it still sounds like a scam. He assured me again it was not and said I could go into one their local offices in my area. I said, ‘Okay. Where are those offices located at near me?’ He then backtracked and said they didn’t have any offices in California because they were based out of New Jersey. I asked him what offices he was referring to then? He said the local Social Security office. I said, yes, I knew my local social security office was and he again assured me that he wasn’t a scammer, wished me a nice day and we hung up. I’ve since marked that text as junk and reported it.
I did a search on the phone number I called (the 888 number) and could not find anything on that number. Doing a search on the number the text came through (954-539-8829) brought me to this website and so I’ve created an account in order to post my experience here. Hopefully, others will be so inclined and do some research before they give their information out to these insiduous scammers.
