Atlaas line, “Leo” answered as the “support desk” and “authorized partners for all major brands.” I told them that it wasn’t a company name, and they then introduced themselves as Support Nerds, Inc., which falsely claims to operate from Chester Springs, Pennsylvania when their support team operates as Binary Semantics Limited at Plot no, 38, Electronic City, Phase IV, Udyog Vihar, Sector 18, Gurugram, Haryana 122015, India.
The company has been on our radar for facilitating tech support scams since October 3, 2019. Since then, the company has lost their certification on Microsoft AppSource.
User complaints on ScamPulse, Reddit and their Google, TrustPilot and Better Business Bureau listings indicate patterns of fraudulent behavior, such as:
- Forcing customers to write 5-star positive reviews while on the phone
- Forcing customers to sign up for an $80/year support package and refusing to offer refunds.
- Tricking customers into giving them remote access to their computers
- Locking the computers of their customers until they pay a $3,000 ransom.
- Falsely claiming the customer’s computer was hacked with a virus.
