Same call center as Our favorite Student Loan Scammers are back

I got connected with “Jennifer the receptionist” and told them I didn’t know what my file number or FSAID was but then said I owed $30k, my monthly payment was $550 and I earn $60k/year.
I was then connected to a “certified loan advisor” who told me their company is called Student Forms.

Student Forms LLC. | 6801 Lake Worth Road | Suite 126 | Green Acres | Florida | 33467 | 888-275-4592

It’s unclear to me if the “receptionists” also work there or if they’re just a Robocall Farm that Student Forms buys leads from but this is progress. Either way if you still ask them what company they work for they hang up and block.

Cowards

im on a call with them rn lmao, im not sure if its even a scam cause the person on the call is very nice. i just told them to call me back later as im busy rn

I called them back a few times on different #s altering my voice a bit and I’m definitely sure now they’re just a Robocall Farm/Lead Generator that provides hot-transfers to several different Student loan scam companies. Student Forms is just one of them.

That also explains why they’re so eager to transfer you to a “certified loan advisor” and why often they have to call 2-3 #s before the transfer works because they have no idea who’s going to pick up.

awesome research! Until now I didn’t understand that the receptionists serve multiple scam companies.

@IronBlade#88934 It is a scam, the message they leave is just as deceptive as any Indian tech support scam going.

They go out of their way to sound like the federal government or maybe some kind of nonprofit connected to the government, ask your FSA ID when you call, all very deceptive.

They say in their message that the recent government shutdown, and some other recent event have changed things as far as student loan forgiveness goes - both of these statements are outright lies, student loan forgiveness as it exists today was put in place during the Obama administration, and it has not changed in any way since.

Finally, the entire concept of paying them anything in the hopes that they might be able to get your student loans forgiven, is in essence a scam, even if they have found some way to stay on the right side of the law (which is doubtful).

Student Loan Forgiveness applies to two very specific groups:

1) People who have "paid as agreed" on their student loans for 10 years continuously
2) People who have become completely and permanently disabled

People in the first group just fill out a one-page form, or spend 5 minutes online punching in some info, wait a week or two, then get back a letter saying congrats, your loans are all forgiven.

People in group two, they are largely identified by Social Security, people on SSD or SSI who have their case reviewed every 5-7 years or more infrequently, are in the category of those who aren't expected to ever recover from their disability, i.e. permanently disabled, and they'd be forgiven of their student loan debt pretty routinely.

Anybody who is permanently disabled but for some reason, does not have SSA in agreement on this, or SSA is paying benefits to them, but they haven't yet been pushed up into the "not expected to ever recover" category, doctor letters/documentation helps and can be submitted too.

NOBODY ELSE QUALIFIES FOR STUDENT LOAN FORGIVENESS!

Because these very two, very specific groups of people that are both extreme, minuscule minorities are the only people who qualify... and because you can rule someone out as qualifying for student loan forgiveness in 20 seconds of questioning, it really just turns these guys' whole thing into a scam, if the other stuff didn't. There is NO MONEY to be made in helping people with Student Loan Forgiveness, UNLESS YOU ARE RUNNING AN OUTRIGHT SCAM.

These guys really are just as bad or worse as any Indian Tech Support scam, biggest difference is they are ripping off their own countrymen, people just like them, in the same predicament

@CometPizzaDaddy#89337 Excellent Explanation! That’s exactly it. Not to mention that these scam companies are also using an illegal Lead Farm to solicit calls.

These places often are compare themselves to services like TurboTax, H&R Block, etc. because they are filling out complicated government forms for you for student debt forgiveness/renegotiation.

Like this one from Student Forms:

“Student Forms is a third party paperwork processor for federal student loans through the William D. Ford Act. Student Forms is in no way affiliated with the Department of Education. Student Forms takes the headaches out of the paperwork for you, much like a tax filing service does the paperwork to file your taxes. We do not offer: debt counseling advice, debt management, private loan options, refinancing, nor tax advice.”

Only a few problems:

  • 1. The forms they fill out for you NOT complicated and take minutes online on the DOE website. These places are preying on ignorance of this. It’s not nearly as complicated as an IRS Form 1040.
  • 2. They lie about the prospects of loan forgiveness and who qualifies for what (as you mentioned)
  • 3. They use illegal marketing techniques by making and/or hiring a call center to make thousands of robocalls leaving Vague VMs that don’t name a company and make false claims
  • OK, so I just rang them and asked the woman if she had seen the new Avengers film, she had, I said “damn, I was gonna call up and give you the spoiler” and she eyerollingly said “yea, welll. you already did that” But I hadn’t, it turns out someone else has been ringing scammer and telling them Avengers spoilers haha

She actually thought it was pretty funny that there are 2 of us (at least) doing the same thing.
