You got scammed? How to avoid future scams

Yes, I know this is a scambaiting community.

However, for you guys that have just landed on this forum for the first time after being scammed, here is how to avoid future scams.

  • 1.

TECH SUPPORT WILL NEVER CALL YOU FIRST.

This is common sense. Legitimate companies such as Microsoft, Apple, Google, etc. DO NOT have the ability to gain access to your device to ‘detect malicious activities’, and as a result, they will NEVER call you.

  • 2.

    LEGITIMATE DOMAINS = LEGITIMATE SUPPORT.
Customer support domains are usually like this:
    support.example.com OR example.com/support
Common customer support domains of companies:
    MS: support.microsoft.com
    Google: support.google.com
    Apple: support.apple.com

TECH SUPPORT WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS.
Even if companies ask for your proof of purchase, they will ask for your RECEIPT, and not your credit card.

IF YOU ENCOUNTERED A SCAM, MAKE SURE TO POST THE NUMBER HERE.
Your contribution will be always appreciated. Even if you are a victim, a scam number posted here will help us shut down the organization, or at least prevent a person from being scammed.
