The scammer will send random friend requests to users on Discord. Once accepted, they will ask if you added them on “Infinity Kingdom,” a mobile game by Yoozoo (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. I’ve never heard of it, so they said they thought I was their “game partner” when, in reality, they were hired to unlawfully solicit the game as an affiliate marketer through ADVgame, a Russian CPA network.
The scammers follow a basic script to lure users into downloading the game, or a wrong app for the game designed to simply steal your money. Once I took note of the fact that they were from Hong Kong, a special administrative region of the People’s Republic of China, I sent them Winnie the Xi Jinpooh and the Wikipedia article for the Tianenmen Square Massacre, and they responded by saying my “whole family are idiots all over the country.”
