On November 16, 2024, police in North Reading, Massachusetts arrested 30-year-old Xuejian Wu from New York for serving as a money mule for an Indian tech support scam operation that involves gaining remote access to a victim’s computer and using a series of threats and intimidation to steal over $10,000 through Bitcoin transactions. Wu was arrested and arraigned in Woburn District Court on what is described as a slew of larceny charges.
