I want to direct the attention to Old School, literal Tech-Support scams. Any idea what happens?
They cant run ads? too many scambaiters? This bots that click on random links has to do anything with it - we used to have this bot that autofinds Tech_Support websites? Oddly we ain’t see these as dearly nowdays.
from what I can gather it’s a mix of tech companies catching on to how they push them out, general knowledge about the scam, and an increase in the amount of scambaiters/scambaiters that know how to take down their operation or at least fuck it up and cost them money.
However that’s not to say there aren’t a lot of them still out there, they just get taken down quickly. There’s a guy on here, can’t remember who, but occasionally he comes on and posts an ass load of them
