Windows Technical Support Pop-up Scam

I encountered this pop-up scam by purposefully visiting the URL: “facebeek.com” and after what looked to be about three redirects, landed on this very malicious page.

Toll-free phone number: 18775877219

I planned to post a direct URL to the pop-up, but it contains the visitors browser, ISP and public IP address. It seems as though it also (for me at least) redirects to the Google home page.

Please **BE CAREFUL** this page has a script running on it that will consume insane amounts of RAM, so much that (if you're using Windows in combination with FireFox at least) it will start to spill over into your pagefile.

Sorry, I made about three calls to them before they disabled their phone number, I wish I knew what specific company was behind this, but unfortunately they just answer as “Microsoft”, like so many others

I Think they will just restart the number. Anything can be possible never know.

I agree with PlayerFridei, there is a chance they may reuse the number again even if they do disable it. I’ve purposefully used the same URL of a popup that I’ve encountered and from my experience at least the scammers have sometimes reused numbers. I once checked the same URL 3 or 4 times in a 24 hour period and each time the number had been changed.
