Recently - Some of my TextNow missed calls (particularly from 501 area codes) leave no text or voicemail stating who they are, why they are calling. However, when I call back, as usual to see who’s on the otherside - be it even 5 minutes after the missed call, say an hour even or a day or two or whenever. I call, then suddenly it connects and a female bot simply comes to the phone and just says “Goodbye” before an automatic hangup.
This is the most recent one (See top right of email stating timestamp → In UNITED KINGDOM time).
Thought that might be the case, but is there an actual point to spoofer doing this? Is this to see if the number THEY are CALLING is still active - Perhaps a number they can sell to a scammer to call? Orrrrrrr??? Cuz I’m confused.
My TextNow BARELY rings, hence they are mostly missed calls. Not sure why - Think my “APK” is broken a little.
Have you been able to answer one? If so, what do they say? I’m curious a little, can’t lie. Insight?
I’ve found them to be generally Medicare scammers who spoof numbers in your area code or neighbouring area codes.
A buddy of mine gets in the region of thirty such spoofed number calls a day and they’re all Medicare scammers offering “extra benefits” on top of your Medicare part A&B.
