Website Feedback

Hey guys,

We've recently just hit over 9,000 members registered on Scammer.info.
So I'd like to ask you guys, do you have any ideas for the site, anything at all, such as extra tags or whatever?
The more tags we have the better, so make sure to post your ideas if you have any.

Our next milestone is 10,000 members, we'll need another 900 members to get there.

an “Airline Scam” or just “travel scam” tag would be nice

@thunder#57733 Maybe possibly add a ‘Questions’ tag? I kind of don’t know what tag to use when I do have a question, I feel like it could be more specific.

Also, I feel an FAQ would help this website, since there are a lot of important pinned posts that people tend to miss. Maybe put it up top with the others somewhere (ToS/Privacy, Partners, etc)

It would also be nice to know what is acceptable to post on the website.

And congrats on 9,000 members! The good word is spreading! :)

This site is already wonderful as it is, so my thing is something to add, bit to change. I don’t believe anything that’s already present on this site needs to be changed.

What could be useful, is to have thread moderation. For example, the creator of a thread could choose whether people can post on the thread or not, or if maybe the reply ends approval. (Obviously admins of the site could get past that restriction. That’s beyond obvious)

Maybe you could also add a timeout for the thread to self-destruct.

Another completely different idea, is if people could flag a post. Similarly, there could be an everlasting poll built in to every thread, to decide whether the number still answers/website still works or simply if the thread is still relevant or not. This could be called the relevance poll.

@TheNenderMage#57798 You used to be able to flag a post.

It could have been removed due to abuse.

Tutorials - I think more tutorials would be helpful to the new people wanting to get involved.

Duplicate Posts - I would also like to see a duplicate post finder. Meaning, if someone posts the same URL or number, call it out before allowing them to post. Something like "so and so already posted this, do you want to continue".

Website Security Audit - DNS is already behind Cloudflare (YAY!) but you should also block out your mail server information brxxx.co.uk - 164.xxx.xxx.114 - ns30xxxxx.ip-164-xxx-207.eu
Consider "challenging" any Indian IP address. Even better, block the entire country if you pay for Cloudflare Premium.

Flagging Posts - Flag with specific reasons. Spam, duplicate post, wrong number, dead number, etc.

Chrome/FF/IE Plugin - It would be nice to have a plugin that can automatically report to you a website and content as a potential scam. A single click captures the screen and the URL to forward you the information. What you do with it, is up to you. I can imagine commercial opportunities (AV companies, WWW companies, etc.) may be interested in buying the data.

More "tags/badges" - Include a tag for a person who scam baits, a person who typically just posts URLs/numbers, etc.

I would also like to add that we should be able to edit any of our posts. For example, I cannot edit my own post above this one. I can only up/down vote or reply. This might be a bug?

Also, when I report a thread, I would like to have a couple more categories added. Right now we have

  • * Off-topic
  • * Inappropriate
  • * Spam
  • * Other
  • Consider adding "Incorrectly tagged post" and "Prohibited behavior (hacking, viruses, etc.).

Lastly, a formatting toolbar should be available for us to use. If I type in **BOLD**, the words between the 2 asterisks are be bold. If I want *italics*, its only one asterisk. Not everyone knows these "tricks", so having a toolbar would be handy. Look at how Reddit implemented it.

A weird suggestion I thought of that may already be implemented, idk, I’m not too familiar with forum structures…

I'd like to be able to comment on a post to tell people the number is dead, but I don't want to bump the thread in the process. If we had this, we could identify numbers that aren't worth our time quicker, and also keep dead numbers off the top of the main page. So if we could get an option to post with no bump, like "sage" on 4chan, that'd be cool and useful.

Or maybe a "dead number" tag? I don't know how that would work but it would be very useful. It'd make the scambait army more efficient.

    @Markiemm#57850 no

Like something people can focus on one Number and bait them together until they shut down.

Thunder your website is great. Government, google and microsoft are doing nothing. Calling those fuckers a lot of times with a lot of people looks like, it really is working. Keep up the great work.

I do love the site, although I wish there was an area where we could share information the general public couldn’t see, or is that what discord is for?

I love the site but we need A DARRRRRK THEEEEEEEMEEEEEEEEE >:0

@WayneZengDaItGuy#57836 Nope, its literally not there 23 hours later. Nothing to do with the 5 minute limit.

Or are you saying that you only have 5 minutes to edit a post and then its gone?

  • 1.

I think the edit time limit should be increased or removed. It can be embarrassing to misspell something (especially if you were on a smartphone and had autocorrect on and autocorrect changed a word to something you didn’t intend)

  • 2.

A scambaiting FAQ and guide for new scambaiters to read

  • 3.

Scambaiting Questions tag in General Discussion

  • 4.

Move the Off Topic tag to a Off Topic forum section and add a tag for Jokes and Memes, Site Discussion (discussion about the website scammer.info), and Anything Else (anything else that is off topic)

  • @Markiemm#57992

I am an idiot who cannot find the private discussion area.

    sorry

@Markiemm#58086 Oh yeah you are right.

A link on the navbar that goes to the wiki would be nice, since there’s not really a link to the wiki anywhere else.
