1: What is it for? I click the button and get an URL to my clipboard. But when I open that in a browser (have tried Edge and Chrome) I get to the page wedonttakeamex.com/audio/<xxxxxxxxxxxxx>, but that's it. It doesn't play the recording to which the URL (I thought) should lead. Is the user supposed to click on something on that page to also HEAR something?
2: (A note more than a question): When I click the button in Firefox in a Linux machine (Linux MInt) nothing gets to my clipboard, even though the message says it has. (Have tried Firefox and Chromium.)
You're seeing the last-half of the recordings subsystem that's under development, which is the public website to share recordings. It is a separate website that does not require Discord (or any login method).
This is still under construction but we expect to have the audio page ready in another day so that it's possible to paste the URL wherever you wish, including here, to share recording audio. This will also tick the "save" box in your Recordings page so that we know not to delete the recording file after 2 days.
@kenzo#106700 Aaahh… OK. ‘Under construction’. The words were going through my head a few times before I decided to ask today instead of waiting for a couple days and see. Curiousity won over patience once again.
Some of coding changes need to happen we’ve discovered…
It looks like mobile browsers will not allow you to push links to the clipboard. A few of them do but most will not. So we'll have to do a popup when you click the share button unfortunately.
A published recording will need to be marked "Saved" and the privacy level switched to "Public". If it's not set to Unlisted or Public it will not show up in WeDontTakeAmex.
You can manually get around this right now by using a desktop browser which will push the link into the clipboard, and then manually checking save and changing the Privacy to public after clicking the share link. When you have it set to Public it will then work on the site.
