Warranty Global Group - Home/Auto warranty & Health/Renter's insurance SCAMMERS

“Your call may be recorded for quality assurance purposes, please hold for the next available agent.”

“Thank you for calling Fenix Protect, your call is very important to us. Please stay on the line and an agent will get ahold of your shortly.”

Scammer sent me a “final notice” in the mailbox earlier this week similar to what is pictured below, urging me to call their toll-free number by August 30 because the “factory warranty” of my vehicle has expired or may be about to expire. Callers must also provide their VIN and current mileage.

The actual name of the company was not provided, instead opting to refer to themselves as the “Vehicle Services Division.” But as I was waiting for the “agent,” a recorded line from a female confirms the company is Fenix Protect, a company FKA Fenix Insurance, LLC that has a grade of F with the Better Business Bureau and several complaints about fraudulent service.

The company does have a 4.2 star rating on Trustpilot, though that could be because the company botted or used their own employees to provide the positive ratings. Many victims have complained about their unsolicited mailing and refusal to cancel or offer a refund.

Fenix Protect is a subsidiary of Warranty Global Group, Inc. a *BBB-*Accredited business with an A+ rating and several complaints for unsolicited mailing as the Home Warranty Division and refusing to cancel or offer a refund.

The scammers sent a fraudulent “time sensitive” letter to my mailbox, similar to the one pictured above falsely informing me that the property’s “home warranty may be expiring or have already expired.” When I called their toll-free Zultys line (877) 728-6042, the agents introduced themselves as Protection Direct, a fraudulent service contract company operating out of 505 Corporate Center Dr, Belleville, Illinois 62221-7629.

User complaints on their BBB, Google, ConsumerAffairs and Yelp listings indicate patterns of fraudulent activity, such as:

  • Repeatedly sending predatory mailers falsely claiming the recipients’ factory warranty for their vehicle had “expired or is about to expire.”
  • Charging $395 as initial payments and $166.55 installments for a fraudulent home protection plan and refusing to offer refunds over the phone.

  • Having their agents go over their sales pitch in an attempt to dodge requests to opt individuals out of their mailing list.
  • Falsely representing their services as being done on the behalf of their victims mortgage provider

A user complaint on 800Notes also reveals the company administers warranties by the Warranty Global Group.

(800) 981-5097 he’s yapping away on this line too, or it seems to be the same guy at least, trying to explain their “legitimacy”. He’s also talking about ‘Car Shield’, specifically, saying “comparatively” they are “less of a scam”. In his own words.

This idiot…

He claims roughly ~$90 USD a month (~$1080 annually) is their AVERAGE “contract price” for ‘HOME WARRANTY’.

[he’s now claiming his shift has ended, so he’s gone.]

I need to be clear here. I tried to hit it off with both. Mr Colin said he worked there for 9 months. I told him that even if I took him at his word, a fridge costs less to replace in a year

Ha ha ha, congratulations! You’ve met a partially honest scammer! Not sure if he was casually trying to warn you to stay away without his boss chastising him, or if it was a Freudian slip. Either way, he knows what he is doing is wrong on some level at least.
