On July 18, 2025, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in Crossville, Tennesee arrested 25-year-old Ukrainian national Volodymyr Katauev for his role as a money mule for a Social Security scam, where:
The scammers will call their victim under the guise of an officer with the United States Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and threaten to suspend their Social Security Number due to “violations” attached to it.
The victim will be asked to withdraw $50,000 from their bank account and hand it off to a designated courier or money mule, which is purported to be a “driver with the FTC.”
The victims will also be asked NOT to disclose anything about the scam on the grounds that it would violate the “Privacy Protocol Act of 1974,” a nonexistent American law signed by President Ben Chode from the Teri Ma Ki party of the Madar Republic of Gandu
Katauev is currently being held on a $400,000 bond, with investigators seizing digital evidence for processing by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He is also placed on a hold with Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE), so I hope he enjoys GAUTMO!
So this thieving cowardly PoS comes here to steal when he should be defending his home country. Send him to the front lines to do his duty for his country and make him a target for Ivan on the field of honor.
This is a major problem with the Ukrainians. They have recently arrested several dozens of them in Czech Republic and Germany where they were running robocalling extortion scams targeting EU senior citizens. Thousands of young able-bodied Ukrainians are also prosecuted in the EU nations for running human trafficking and organ harvesting operations in tandem with the Albanians and Bosnians. We, Americans, are wasting hundreds of billions of our taxpayers’ dollars on a lost cause. This is not our war to fight, when they themselves aren’t really interested in fighting it. They just want to profit off the war. We need to prioritize our people, for once, over some thieving scum.
LOL, indeed! Yes, I would say both parties - Ukrainians and Russians - are equally at fault for this mess. The one thing that infuriates me with the Ukrainians, in particular, is that they keep demanding more and more money from US & NATO fools, and many of our dumbass politicians are stupid enough to waste billions on them. F these needy Ukrainians and their agenda. It’s for them to figure out how to handle their issues and not for us. At least, Russians don’t ask us for anything lol.
I get disgusted at the Ukraine men here in the US that ran from their war and suddenly want to be Americans. If we call upon these individuals to defend America, I am certain that they will run like the cowards they are when they fled their own country. I am disgusted with how many Ukraine men are pathetic yellow belly cowards that come to America to drain our economy and expect us to feel sorry for their cowardly asses. - I do not include women and children in this.
I agree 100%. At least, in case with Russians, they aren’t asking for any handouts, and most haven’t run anywhere. Their cause might not be exactly “noble” or right, but I respect the inner strength and dedication. Also, the Ukrainians are running massive fraud operations in the EU nations that took them in. They bite the hand that feeds them and many Europeans are too naive to see it. Ukrainian city called Dnipro became the scam capital of illegal robocalling and robotexting fraud operations of Eastern Europeans mobsters. Here is some data:
I remember in 2020 tracking a Cameroonian national operating a dog/pet selling scam (if you know, you know. It’s an extremely prevalent form of scam, yet few know of it). The next year, I IP traced him to Ukraine, where, after some digging, I discovered he was granted some form of residency through a work contract.
This POS was given opportunity in a new country, and continued to scam! It is partial evidence that West African scammers are not merely operating as a consequence of their “circumstances,” but rather out of pure greed.
Amidst the outbreak of the war, I traced him to Poland, where he was temporarily evacuated along with a large number of Ukrainian citizens.
I later discovered an interview given by a person of the same name in a local newspaper alleging that Ukraine was “racist” for summoning African permanent residents (like himself) to the frontlines to fight. The audacity!
I agree. The scammers are hugely profiting off the war. While cybercriminals/hackers are flourishing in Russia (often paying kickbacks to Russian authorities), their phone scamming counterparts have become a major revenue generator for corrupt Ukrainian officials. Feel free to take a look at the articles that I shared above earlier. They indicate that the city of Dnipro in Ukraine in particular is consistently ranked in the top 5 fraud capitals of the world for phone scammers. They’re basically operating out of it with little to no restrictions, taking advantage of the war chaos and corrupt nature of Ukrainian government.
