Hey guys! I’ve seen some scam baiters use a virtual machine to mess with the tech support guys while keeping their own computer safe. Is this really a good option? Does it really keep your machine safe?
People with some knowledge can theoretically escape from your vm to get to the host computer by exploiting some Windows glitches, like in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDuWcGn5hTQ&t . However most scammers are unskilled and dumb, they only know basic windows commands, syskey and remote access softwares, ie teamviewer. That’s what they do everyday by following pre encoded scripts and by saying the same lies again and again as they know that they are basically speaking with people who don’t know computers.
