INMATE LISTING - VENKATESWARA CHAGAMREDDY Booked at the Delaware County Jail
On August 27, 2025, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office in Oklahoma arrested 27-year-old Indian national Venkateswara Chagamreddy for facilitating a Microsoft technical support scam, where:
- An associate will call the victim, in this case an elderly male, under the guise of a Microsoft employee to falsely claim their computer was being used for “criminal activity” and that he needed to “surrender to the federal government.”
- Later that day, another associate would call the victim under the guise of “federal officer David J. Morgan” and claim the victim was a “victim of identity theft” under an active investigation due to their personal computer being used on the dark web for drug and weapons dealings and the purchase of CHILD PORNOGRAPHY.
- To ensure their “innocence,” the victim will be asked to withdraw nearly $65,000 from their bank account, convert it into gold and hand it off to a designated courier or money mule.
- To avoid raising suspicion, “David” also demanded that the victim not speak to anyone about the whole ordeal on the grounds that he would “face additional charges.”
- Once the money is collected, “David” will demand the victim speaks to their financial advisor about withdrawing half of their retirement account for hotels in Hong Kong, China.
Chagamreddy was arrested after pulling up to the victim’s driveway to obtain nearly $200,000. During the arrest, police also seized:
- 23 1oz gold pieces, which he claimed was to be taken to his friend “Rio” in Kansas
- a marijuana grinder
- rolling papers
- ground marijuana
- 5 $100 bills
- two cell phones
- travel documents
- “multiple items of Dominion and Control.”
Chagamreddy is currently being held at the Delaware County Jail on charges of conspiracy, fraud and explotation of the elderly. And as he entered the states on a student visa, he is currently being held by ICE for deportation, so I HOPE HE ENJOYS GAUTMO!
