Mobile provider scam UK, I have a couple of scams one is by SMS others are by phone call and SMS
**NOTE**: ** two stars on left side means only one network providers name will be there, it will not say Network provider
I work for a network provider so have a good insight but annoys me how they don't put anything out to people.
**EDIT**: These scammers will spoof numbers of legitimate companies sometimes and this can really throw people off.
**Numbers**: Below are two number that I know are NOT spoofed.
01753208913
02086387897
====================
**Scam 1**: A text will be received from a mobile number (Hundreds of different numbers used) with the following or a variation of the below text in quotes, the one below is one I personally received to my number,
"O2_UK: We failed to process your bill today. Please make sure your billing info is correct to avoid any loss of service. Check at https://billinfo-myo2.com"
If a person is to "login" to there account scammers will have access to there mobile account and may get banking information if person is to input them.
**NOTE**: network providers will normally send a text from a no-reply number and you normally won't be able to see the number it will just show your networks name.
====================
**Scam 2**: This scam is a little more complicated, I will try my best to explain how it works,
So person will get a phone call from the scammer perpetrating to be from **Network provider (O2, EE ect) they will offer the person 40% off a upgrade,
The person will get a 6 digit code that the scammer says they have sent (This is not the case, when a password reset is requested on the website this is then sent to the customer to confirm they are requesting this),
The scammer then asks for the 6 digit code, if the person provides then the scammer has access to the persons account and can upgrade,
**NOTE**: This is where there is two variations of this specific scam,
**Variation 1**: They may "talk" the person into wanting say a iPhone 11 Pro but they will upgrade the persons account to a Samsung S21+,
Once the person receives the "Wrong" handset the scammer will call the person and explain that they have sent out the wrong handset in error and give them an address to send the phone to (This is the scammers address, which I have but don't know if I can post)
**EDIT**: I have double checked and seems I can post the addresses.
Office 1 collection warehouse
First floor studio
Clyde mill street
Bolton
BL1 3PA
If person sends then scammer has handset.
**Variation 2**: Once scammer has access to persons account they will change the address so the phone is to be delivered directly to them (Them being scammers).
