Udaipur Police RAIDS, shuts down Scamazon operation (41 ARRESTED!)

On May 5, 2025, police in Udaipur, India raided an illegal call center that operated out of the Hotel Sapphire in Dhan Kotda to facilitate what is defined as a “first of it’s kind” Amazon refund scam, where

  • Canadian residents received fraudulent text messages regarding “undelivered parcels” in their name.
  • The victims will be asked to “verify” their information by scanning a QR code, which is actually used to deposit money to the crypto wallet of Ahmedabad resident Deepu Patel, who has reported connections with senior officials with Gujarat police.

41 scammers were arrested: 32 men and 9 women. Four Gujarati managers were identified as:

  • Harsh Patel from Ghatlodia
  • Ashish Rajput from Bapunagar
  • Keyul Shah from Naranpura
  • Dhamil Shah of Satellite.
