On January 26, 2024, U.S. Representative Eric Sorensen (D-IL7) introduced a bipartisan bill co-sponsored by Rep. Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ6) that would crack down on AI robocalls. The bill, officially named as the Quashing Unwanted and Interruptive Electronic Telecommunications (QUIET) Act, will require robocallers to disclose the use of artificial intelligence at the beginning of their calls or text messages or face forfeiture and criminal penalties.
