Trey Romans, Jean Dorcena ARRESTED for facilitating phantom hacker scam (VICTIM REFUNDED)

On November 1, 2025, the Port St. Lucie Police Department in Florida arrested 20-year-old Trey Romans and 25-year-old Jean Dorcena for facilitating a “phantom hacker”/social security scam, where:

  • Dorcena would call his victim , in this case an elderly male from California, under the guise of a representative with Chase Bank to falsely claim their account was compromised.
  • In order to “safeguard” their funds, the victim was asked to withdraw $20,000 from their bank account and mail it in a yellow envelope via FedEx.
  • Dorcena would drive Romans to the delivery address in a Hyundai SUV.

The two are currently being held without bond at the St. Lucie County Jail on charges of

  • Grand theft
  • Scheme to defraud
  • Unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony (Dorcena only)
  • Possession and delivery of marijuna under 20 grams (Romans only)
  • Violation of probation from a prior arrest (Romans only)

Police have also seized 17 grams of marijuana during the arrest. The victim will receive the money back in the form of a check.
