Scammer.Info live-streamed events. community interaction and live scambaiting.
@CPTNDoge#189558 I agree
I would say that starting a community outside of discord is the biggest part in making a successful outside server. There is scammer. info here, but there is too much if an overlap between scammer. info and the discord server. I’d say that starting a subreddit or YouTube channel is probably the best way to make the discord more active.
Take this from a guy who only found out this community exists about a week ago, I think awareness is your biggest enemy. If I’d have known this was an active community I’d have joined years ago. The Jim Browning video that mentions Scammer.Info is the reason why I am here. I’m guessing lots of you are also here because of that video.
If we could somehow encourage more well known scambaiters to engage with our community (Pierogi for example,) we would have more new gung-ho scambaiters like myself.
@TheJackalope#189612 I found this site from that one video in about a dozen of his, and never in Pierogi’s, and I watched maybe 20-30 of his now. I think partly that might be to stop torrents of new people and partly to stop scammers from coming on to either gain info or create red herrings? In any case Microsoft is buying DC? I hate to think of the data mining they are going to get up to there. I think having decentralised communities has pros and cons, one pro is that it is generally more secure. I was involved in protest some years ago, and we had affinity groups so that the police had less chance of finding out what was going to happen ahead of time. On the other hand it makes sense for people to be able to find the people they need to be working with and the information they need.
I only joined today, I used to work on 1st line so could possibly brush up and get involved but I'm off grid on sometimes intermittant 4g, so that might not be possible. I can still forward any phishing emails i get though :)
I think maybe adding mee6 or another similar leveling bot might help make the server more active. I am in other servers that use a leveling system and I think it helps to make the server more active.
