Tilak Jewelers, Saima Jewelers RAIDED for ties to Social Security scams (5 ARRESTED!)

On January 29, 2026, the Collin County Sheriff’s Office in Texas and federal authorities raided two Indian-owned jewelry stores across the lone star state for being associated with a Social Security scam operation, where

  • The scammers will send fraudulent emails to elderly victims, falsely claiming their names were associated with “criminal acts.”
  • When the victim calls, the scammer will pose as a federal agent and threaten to arrest the victim if they don’t buy gold and hand them off to designated couriers, or money mules, at oybkuc neetubg soits,
  • The gold will then be sold to the aforementioned jewelry stores and melted into bracelets and other items.

The jewelry stores raided were:

Five suspected mules were arrested during this operation:

  • Arpit Desai
  • Simarjeet Singh Gill
  • Satish Amrutlal Kumar Patel
  • Pranjal Jigneshkumar Patel
  • Radhakrishhna Yerramneni

The 46-year-old Yerramneni is confirmed to have had been previously been arrested on October 23, 2025 on two counts of engaging in organized criminal activity and one count of financial abuse of the elderly. The Telagu-origin mule was held on a $4 million bail

Authorities have estimated that over $55 million were stolen from victims over 65 years of age across the state of Texas as a result of this scam, with over $7.2 million coming from around 200 victims in Collin County, Texas alone.
