I think it depends on how you scambait. Most people take joy in simply making prank calls to known scam numbers, but I take a more investigative approach to try and take down the individuals responsible. We’ve already seen this happen with Kunal Gupta and Richard Zeitlin this past August after I listed their agencies on the Wall of Shame, so I’d consider my scambaiting more of a public service than anything else.
