On October 18, 2024, the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) issued a robocall enforcement notice permitting all US-based carriers to block all robocalls transmitting from iDentidad Advertising Development, LLC from Bogota, Colombia, for their failure to adhere to a 2023 cease-and-desist letter highlighting how they routed and transmitted a myriad of scam calls, including:
Amazon refund scams
Visa/Mastercard “unauthorized charge” scams
Chase Bank refund scams
Wells Fargo refund scams
Social Security Scams
Other government impersonation scams.
The FCC, alongside the 51 attorneys general who comprise the Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Task Force, also issued a stern warning against iDentidate to immediately cease their transmission of scam calls, else they will face civil penalties, damages and injunctions to prevent the further facilitation of scam calls.
