Hi,
before today I didn’t really see any reason to be around these forums a lot and that watching Browning’s and Kitboga’s would be good enough. It was certainly good enough to scambait this scammer for at least 20 minutes.
The scammer has called me explaining that he’s with Windows and that he’s received warnings and that my home network is compromised, as any other scambag(pun intended). What surprised me the most is that an English tech support scammer called our landline in Germany, with a German Telekom phone number, and my mother speaking German with the scammer at first before handing the phone to me. I then proceeded to keep him on the line attempting to find an opportunity to explain the situation to my mother which I managed to do. My mom insisted on me to hang up and I continued to explain what scambaiting is about. She then, while slowly, got to understand it.
Don’t worry, they weren’t on any of our computers, since I didn’t have any virtual machine set up due to the randomness of the call.
If any of y'all want to get further into it I'll provide all information I was able to gather right here:
• Pretending to be Microsoft Windows Tech Support
• Phone: 022251244
• Voice is Indian
• "Warnings" on network
• Use Remote Desktop software, more details unknown
• Very patient and probably greedy
Hope y'all have a great day :)
