Since BobRTC is gone, i’m looking for a service similar to TextNow that works in the UK.
you can use Text Now with a VPN, like Winscribe or something similar
TextNow works in the UK. Probably with almost any vpn. I have used Avira VPN and Surfshark and TextNow works well.
try textplus, its working good for me so far. however, u can only receive calls or call a toll free number as u need “credit balance” to make calls. luckily, u can watch some ads and collect credit. the trick here is to call the scammer and let them call u back.
Free Services: Google Voice, Text Now - possibly the best
Paid Services (More flexibility such as changing numbers on spot): voip.ms ; What I use - note you need a VoIP phone / Application.
google voice only works in the us, its services like textnow that you can use in other countries. I know most indian and nigerian scammers use textnow.
Talkatone is a good one that I use here and there.
Also, TextNow does NOT, under any exception, allow VPNs (including the “oh, just protecting my online shit” blah blah blah, on their service so please be EXTRA careful or you risk permanently losing your account if your caught out. Word of warning. 
They love TextNow - the scammers.
Zadarma (not free!) works also fine

I just used a VPN to sign up for textnow then use it normally without a VPN.
That’s the smartest method.
