How do you find this

I got some more websites which have been or still are related to this scam:

Screenshot-2020-05-14-13-55-09 hosted at ImgBB — ImgBB

http://www.energydatametrics.com

not sure if they actually do scams, but they are definitely involved, according to their website they “provide software and technology services to manage energy efficiency programs”.

another related website, same address as tek4all and Sukant Jain is named again as involved on the link below, and on the website as CEO and founder, https://opencorporates.com/companies/us_ca/201822110681

also has a different phone number attached, 714 242 5701.

also named are the following individuals who may or may not be real:
Dan Hurd - Founder
Samir Pandey - Chief Technology Officer
Abhijeet Kulkarni - VP Technical Operations
Ameeta Jain - VP Finance
Marty Gleason - Director Business Development
Bill HcHugh - Advisor
Tom Fitzpatrick - Advisor
there's also a lengthy bio for every one of them, which also may or may not be true.
EDIT: after looking at the number it seems to be a telemarketing number, used for green energy scams.
EDIT 2: found even more info.

What bad do they really do?

Dan called me in response to me looking for computer support on their site (referred from support review site). They provided network troubleshooting for me, installed “support” app, after that charged $250 as agreed for “Gold” plan for 1 year.

However, trying to get more details on the plan - very vague responses.

Their link

Price & Plans -

changes its content, depending on whether I got to it myself or given to me by their chat support.

I deleted their app, after a Gentleman called me and warned that they might be spammers. Now using VPN.

Looks like your site does not like me using VPN.

Are they really computer expert?

Is their software harmful? Can they do any damage to a computer or data?

Do their 1 year support for 2 computers and cell phone, some peripheral devises worth $250 ( a "discount" price")?

Why did Snipez called their customers "victims"?

What is "Virus total"? That link does not look nice :-)

Best regards

@alko#163126 I cant remember exactly how I found these people. I believe they called me at some point and asked if I was having any issues with my computer. I told them I had an issue with my printer. To which I let them connect to my virtual machine. They went through the process of “checking the issue”. But never actually diagnosed or try to fix the issue. And instead told me it was a virus was affecting my printer and I needed to purchase security to fix the issue.

@alko#163126 These scammers dupe people into believing they need to purchase something they dont have to in order to fix an issue. Or overcharge for something minor. Now in terms of their software, Its fairly harmless. They use some quick remote tool from Logmein. Which is from a legitimate company. They can only connect to your computer if you launch the program. And no, the program itself wont damage your data. Its quite funny they call themselves “Computer experts”. They managed to publicly leak all of their “customer” data going back to at least 2017. Names. Home addresses, emails, phone numbers, etc… Quite sad they cant even provide support for themselves. On top of lying to their “customers” about their phone number being hijacked by scammers or whatever. They also never informed their customers of the leak.

Thanks, Snipez!

They really helped me with my networking issue, and Dan "arranged" "discount" plan for 2 computers etc. for $250/year

The weird thing happened AFTER our initial contact and some support work from Dan, after we agreed on the pricing: some Gentleman called me and told that he is tracking these spammers, and he noted that they just worked with me. Gave me some of their info and warned to be careful.

Was it one of you guys?

Right now, I have some other networking issue, and will try to check their skills again: very slow connection to some sites; a few Internet speed sites, after running speed tests (kind of average results) have intermittently stopped allowing me to run the speed test (via Chrome, Firefox, new MS Edge):
https://www.att.com/support/speedtest/
http://speedtest.com/
http://vac.visualware.com/

Cannot connect to :
http://techsupportexpert.com/contact-us/
https://techsupportexpert.com/price-plans/

Might be, they check on how many times an IP address checks on the speed....

  • - Even after removing NordVpn - did not restore the ability to connect to these sites.
  • Typical message:
    Hmmm… can't reach this pagehttp://vac.visualware.com/ is unreachable.
    Try running Windows Network Diagnostics.
    ERR_ADDRESS_UNREACHABLE

Windows did not find any issue.

Can connect to other sites though.

    Best regards
