Extra Info: This was a pop-up “error message” scam. My father-in-law fell for it. They got his debit card info and used it to reload Vanilla Visa gift cards. They blacked out his screen and purchased digital XBox gift cards from his Amazon account. Thankfully the bank is refunding the unauthorized purchases.
I have been thinking about getting into scambaiting and I think this one just pushed me over the edge.
