- The scammer, “Mark,” will have me “connect to the Microsoft Secure Server” by going to mswin.site (Key: IP: 8481 66.29.153.100
) to download UltraViewer (ID: 71634927/DESKTOP-EVTC8FT). - Once “Mark” remotely connected to my virtual machine, he falsely claimed an “attempt of hacking” took place within the past 48 hours and asked me to run the “netstat” command in the Command Prompt before transferring my call to his “technician, Austin Smith,” who ran a “security scan” on my computer.
- Once the “scan” is complete, I was asked to provide my ZIP code so he can search for a “nearby Microsoft Security center,” which is actually a nearby CVS or Walgreens.
