Tech Support Scam

I was browsing videos, and this popup showed up. It took over the entire screen once I clicked it and couldn’t be closed with alt-f4 or ctrl+w. Also, the URL was showing as just “about:blank#blocked”. When I looked at the referrer it was “https://asap-support.top/index.php?uid=005b9c465f50b3dc5eae7d43&timeout”. But that link wasn’t working anymore when I tried going at it again.

The number in the scam is:

1-888-514-3551

This is how it was showing (I have a Clipboard logger, that's how I was able to capture it with a print screen, because I couldn't use anything else while it was on):

Another thing, when I tried calling from Skype, it said this number is no longer in use. They must be detecting private numbers. I had to use Google Voice and then the call made it through. That makes it very easy for them to block phone numbers.

They're much more advanced than what I was expecting. Even when I tried to go back and click on the same video that led to the popup, it just went straight to the video and didn't open the scam page anymore.

The number is even identified in Google as "Total Telephone Solutions Ltd." and not as scam warning or anything (On my Pixel 4 phone).

Also, straight phone blasting won't work. The number asks to press "1" before it goes to a human operator.
