Additional information about this scam: I recently had a close call with a QuickBooks tech support scam and want to share my experience to help others stay vigilant. When I sought assistance for a software issue, I called a number I found online, thinking it was a legitimate support line. However, I encountered a scammer who used high-pressure tactics, requested remote access to my computer, and demanded payment for their “fix.” Fortunately, I realized it was a scam before parting with my money.
The number was reported here before, but without any contextual comment other than an odd “disclaimer” that claims many things and disclaims nothing.
They claim to be Quickbooks ProAdvisors, a kind of franchise/licensing thing for accountants. So I searched the ProAdvisor directory for their Zip code

They were not listed. (Their address is an incorporation hotel that houses many virtual businesses).
