Additional information about this scam: Lots of pauses that I cut out while they conferred in the background. Ultimately, they did not try to connect to my computer, and I’m not sure why unless it was that I told them I was on a public college network. Fun to listen to the BS, though and got two direct numbers: 866-595-3634 and 800-556-7479. Tell Kate that you’re the sheriff of Hill County MT and go from there.
