They picked up and when they asked me which gift card i wanted and i told the indian scam one and they hung up

The scammers packed up for the day and are forwarding to what you are hearing now. They most likely get a few rupee's per call when they do, and they can come back and take the number over again when they are ready. Ever notice how, on a lot of these calls, you call a number, then it seems to pick up, then it goes into another (and usually slightly different) ring tone?
