Twilo line, baiting with virtual machine.
HIGHLIGHTS FROM VIRTUAL MACHINE BAIT:
- The scammer, “Kathleen Sanchez” claimed to have made a routine check-up call on your computer as it was infected with a virus and prompted you to open Task Manager and run UltraViewer (ID: 77840245, 76743711, 74496679, 69574966) Since she was clearly deaf, she transferred me to her “senior accountant, Lawrence.”
- The 39-year-old “Lawrence” then wanted me to open QuickAssist and connect to the “Microsoft Safe and Secure Network.” Once remotely connected to my virtual machine, they wanted to run MSInfo32 to check if I was running a virtual machine.
- After a separate bhenchod connected, “Lawrence” then ran a “diagnostic” using a “2-tier architecture” in the form of QuickAssist (Code: X38PH9/“Bill B.”) and Alpemix before transferring my call to his "level 4 technician, “David.”
- “David” then ran a “routine diagnosis” with the “tree” command in the command prompt and checking the programs and features installed on my virtual machine. Since he was taking way too long, I ran the “dir/s” command just for shits and giggles and hung up the call.
