Additional information about this scam: My neighbor called these scammers and they got him to pay $300 on a credit card. They then called back the next day and tried the traditional refund scam where they tried to trick him into thinking they accidentally deposited $3,000 into his bank account. He finally figured out something was fishy and told them off.
I noticed this phone number was already reported on these forums back in 2022. Sounds like they need a lesson as they didn’t learn the first time.
