510-970-1565 – This guy has an American accent. He said SSA in California is open on Saturday. I asked him his name and he got really rude with me. I ran the number through SSA and it is NOT for sure. This was really strange. Now when I call I get a recording saying to leave a number and name. These guys sound convincing and it is really scary but the not identifying himself to me and getting nasty is a sure sign of a scammer. I left a lot of nasty messages on the voicemail. Please do so.

Called. Spoke with Mesia? Not sure how to spell. He said he’S been receiving lots of calls today. Doesn’t know WHY. Masia said they are open Saturday REALLY?? His job is to help people who are at retirement or early retirement age. Sounded African American. He tells his mom to ignore the ssa calls because they are a scam. I couldn’t follow through with having fun. I’m unsure. Has been verified?? Yes??

Typically you have to leave a message and then redial after a few minutes and he picks up.

@drwat#94133 That is exactly what he said to me. He would not identify himself or his office address and he did say he WAS Social Security. He talked over me. You and I have both dealt with the real SSA. The real number is automated and a real employee would talk politely. They also HAVE to identify themselves and they always say Miss, Mrs. or Mr. then their last name. I don’t know what kind of scam this guy is pulling but it is really creepy.

@JusticeinTexas#94139 i would bet that since virtually all of this type of fraud comes from overseas and out-of-reach of our federal authorities, they’d probably throw a disproportionate amount of resources at catching the few domestic scammers that do pop up. i’d think reporting is very worthwhile, i’d be sure to emphasize that it seems like this guy is an American

Before assuming this is fraud and leaving racial slurs on a workplace voicemail, try verifying the authenticity of Social Security employees who work on weekends to work so those who are seeking their retirement can get it. Did anyone call the SSA national number to verify the employee. I hope everyone who is degrading and harassing the employee apologize in the same manner you are putting bad info on the internet.

He is not answering still and I even left a message to call back at my burner number to tell me if he is for real or not. I said if he had some kind of explanation as to why he was saying he IS SSA then I would retract the fraud claim. I do not expect to hear from the creep. Too many of us have called him.
