I found these guys after a bit of online searching, I found a website where they were claiming to be a "Bitcoin Tech Support Team". They answered and asked what I was inquiring about, I told them I was having problems transferring Bitcoins. He said that their support team would call me back in a little bit.
I got the call back and he seemed very professional, except for the fact that he wanted access to my PC via Teamviewer.
He asked me to login to my preferred Bitcoin service, I told him that I was having trouble making an account and I needed help sending Bitcoins to my sick mother.
He sent me a QR code and told me to go to some type of ATM machine in order to transfer money to my Bitcoin wallet. He made it very clear that he would need a picture of the receipt.
After I told him I couldn't do that, he instantly went and tried to sign me up for all sorts of services. Zelle, Paypal, Cashapp, Google Pay. Anything that I could use to transfer money.
After that failed, he asked me "what stores are near you?" I replied with "Home Depot."
He immediately said "Go and buy a $500 Home Depot giftcard. We can use that to transfer the Bitcoins."
He also made sure to tell me the typical scammer line that is, "Tell the employees this is for your personal use. It is illegal to use these cards for commercial use."
After I hung up the call and pretended to go buy a giftcard, he tried to transfer money and figure out my fake online bank. He tried to transfer money to "El Group INC" and Luwole Bidemi Igunnu. Could that be his real name and the name of his organization?
He also tried to sign up for an Amazon and Gamestop account using my fake credit card.
It's a very strange scam, but it does in fact seem to be a scam. It'd be great if any of you could gather more information on these guys and their weird operation.
Have fun!
