Starting out and seeking some info

Hi.

I just thought I’d introduce myself. I’m GenuineCorruption (or at least that’s my internet pseudoname). I just recently started doing some scam baiting in my free time. Sorry in advance if my tags are incorrect; it’s going to take me some time to figure out how to use the tags interface correctly with my assistive technology.

I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me if there are any US tech support scammers left at all (where you’d talk to someone in the US).

I came across the profix.us number (the site is dead but the number seems to work). They won’t bite, though. They answer, I tell them I got a popup telling me to call them, they ask “are you an existing customer?”, I say no, then they tell me to take my computer to a local store and hang up.

Any information is much appreciated.

Thanks.

This site has a huge board of tech numbers that users and fellow scambaiter post every day. Just read all the post and you will surely find plenty of scammers to mess with. Often times, these numbers will go down as there must be quite a lot of us here making their lives hell. Just keep going down the list and be sure to post any info that may not be here yet or new numbers. The community also seems to be growing at quite a nice rate. Also, discord is a fantastic source for scammers info. If you need some tips on scambaiters you can go to my post about correctly scambaiting people down below.

Us global tech

@RamanRoy#18508 Thanks everyone for your replies. Sadly I can’t participate in discord for accessibility reasons (google discord screen reader accessibility, the Discord developers’ opinions on this are a bit surprising).

I appreciate all the information though.

What do US Global Tech do? Popups or something? I can’t find any dirt on them on Google.

I promice I won’t bombard you guys with questions anymore, you’ve been turific, but I do have one last one. Could someone please tell me which scam company is involved in this Youtube video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xU5FYdt-A8

I’m completely blind, so if there are phone numbers displayed in the video or URLs visited which give this away I can’t read those and nothing’s in the video description.

I would love to have a chat with Josh the scammer.

Thanks again for all of your help. I'll be sure to post every new scammer number that calls me if it's not already listed here.

You want info on US Global Tech? I could provide you a lot of info from them

@76561198065250084#18734 Do tell. All I know is that they are based in Florida (that’s where majority of American tech scams operate) . Their address is a men’s warehouse.

what do you wanna know?

Information like the name of the company that “Josh” in that video works for would be very much appreciated. I want to chat with him real bad. As for US global, what is their MO? I couldn’t find any posts online suggesting that they do typical scare popups or cold calls. Couldn’t find any rants either from disgruntled customers.

While I’m sure that the reviews on sites like shopper approved could be bogus, I was surprised not to have found angry posts or youtube videos.

As for the address, I found multiple businesses claiming to be located there (a cloud hosting provider, a shipping company among other things). There’s also a page suggesting it might be residential. I wondered if it might be a large office building from which multiple businesses operate?

US Global doesn’t really call out to people, It’s people calling out to them. I did try to search for people complaining regarding the scamming or such but failed to do so. I don’t think that the reviews are bogus since most people are legit. I had an experience with one of the tech, I did try to have my Windows XP cleaned up of viruses and malwares, when I watched the technician work on my computer, they used softwares that could remove malwares and viruses and it was a free trial and uninstalled it right after. To make the story short after the work the technician called me and asked me to test it and to make a review at shopper approved after, so most likely those reviews are not bogus but are from people who are not computer savvy.

@legitscambaiter#18752 It’s a scam. Fake address = scam. Wouldn’t trust a tech support service with a fake address. I tried to get someone over at US Global Tech to explain it to me and they never responded. Also, tech support scams don’t necessarily have to do pop-ups or cold calls in order to scam people. There are deceptive tech scam companies such as Myphonesupport (although does conduct cold calls) that place their ad online claiming to offer “legit” support. They trick the victim into thinking they offer authentic support and use other software that give out false positives to convince their victims into thinking they have issues and thus pay for phony services. Tech Scam owners, such as Raman Roy, make a lot of money from this and they need to be stopped. They sometimes syskey. I’ve had a Myphonesupport agent try to delete my files and syskey me.

Anyways, we need to investigate more on this US Global Tech scam.

I didn’t say they were legit, and also I didn’t say that they are not scamming. I only indicated how they work and like I said their targets are non computer savvy people

I did give them a call late the other night. I got an Indian sounding guy who was on a mobile phone outside (lots of wind in the background).

He transfered me to a female tech who also had an axent though I didn’t recognize it. She told me my VM had “the highest level of infection” which did sound pretty typical and dodgy, but she didn’t take me through the usual sequence involving event viewer and the like.

I would have been member NO. 118 in their customer portal which I saw as a red flag (so many good reviews yet only 117 customers?).

She wouldn’t answer to the address issue either.

@RamanRoy do you happen to know who Josh might be, or the identity of the scam CO. in the youtube video I linked??

@GenuineCorruption#18756 strange. Didn’t know they had foreigners working there or maybe that one girl I spoke too had a very good American accent. Lol. Sorry I don’t know who Josh is. We could find out

@RamanRoy#18757

If you wouldn’t mind, it’d be very much appreciated.

For reference, Josh is the scammer in this youtube video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8xU5FYdt-A8

Apparently the recycle bin is evil.

If you dig far enough into the comments, theres one very intresting comment from someone claiming to be one of Josh’s colleagues giving a shout-out to him.

I replied to that but got no response. The scam baiter who did the video doesn’t seem to remember much either.

Anything you can manage to dig up would be amazing.

@RamanRoy#18757 Have you been able to find anything?

@GenuineCorruption#19035 Not yet

@RamanRoy#19037 Okay. Thank you very much for your continued effort.
