SSA Scam Progress And Skitishness

Good afternoon,

I’ve kind of stepped back for a few weeks and now that I’ve returned, the SSA scammers seem much more skittish than the ones I was used to. What happened?

Despite my repeated attempts, I have so far failed to keep scammers on the line beyond 8PM PST/11PM EST. Maybe I got lucky in my first month doing this when I held 2 of them on the line until close to 10PM PST (so basically 5 hours past their normal schedule). Most of them seem to peel off after 4:30PM PST, even if I "went" to the bank and withdrew the cash.

I normally have a single credit union account with several grand in it. That seems to be best so far in not raising suspicions. I've tried having 7-9 accounts with a few millions in total, but they always demand proof. Also, I have now switched to matching the state of the phone number I use to my details. For ex, if I have a Texas phone, I will come up with a Texas SSN, Address, and Bank. A while ago this seemed to work 80% of the time, but now it doesn't seem enough.

My repertoire of youtube ambient sounds has solidified around a few that seemed to work well, but I am worried they are getting used to the sounds. The car video I love, but they seem to occasionally realize its the same they've heard before. ( for the curious: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iZA9Dm_m55Y )

Any tips on keeping them hooked on? What do you guys use to persuade them to stick around?

@vadim#161669 I myself trolled them recently for a hour and used youtube car horn. drive sound …grocery store sounds … can get to 2nd officer “senior” officer … just depends on the call center … I dunno … they get slammed so hard by us maybe they caught on to rollers and voices … Had few tell me I recognize you … I talked to you last week … Be different number … Would say your the girl that likes CLOWN SHOES … Or you are the one talking about toilet cleaner … :joy::sweat_smile:… They used to work on Saturday more but wed just flood them so bad they shut the number down :joy:

If they get pushy about not muting my phone, I usually play them toilet sounds for a minute or two before going to my car to get to the bank.

I guess its the issue that they get really used to it, but it probably means their failure rate is really high. I doubt the whole center gets more than 1-2 marks per day.

My ideal scammer is one doing a personal setup, so he can stay after hours as much as he wishes. In some of the more professional scam call centers, I've had the phone disconnected mid sentence once the clock hit 4:30 , 5 or 5:30PM PST. I am really looking for a few scammers willing to go above and beyond to achieve their goals. I guess they are few and far in between, just like legitimate employees.

I wonder what psychological hooks we can build to keep them online more? I'll toy around creating a sort of Mr. Burns character that has a business related to India. Like a sweatshop owner or something.

@vadim#161675 I often feel tired after a long bait or several short baits. I convince them to grant me one more day.I am often successful with that strategy (not always). I complain about having a headache

Lately I “volunteer” that I want to “safeguard” my funds via cashapp using Android phone ( emulator in reality) I capture IP this way. This works with larger scam centers as they know all means to get money.

@drwat#161686 Someone created /or least tried to coinbase account to secure my 60k for me. How does that Android emulator work? Any youtube vids / tutorials about it? I’ll see if I can integrate it in my repertoire.

@vadim#161709 Very simple. are many android emulators. I like BlueStacks.

Scammers typically tell you to install apps like Quicksupport/Teamviewer or Anydesk. Good thing with Bluestacks is its weakness. Scammer navigates various settings and views of Android but some views are blank/black ( a weakness in the emulator) Scammer gets frustrated and tries all means to get to my bank app or cashapp. In the mean time I have wireshark on the PC where emulator is running and I capture IP and geo-location.

There are much better emualtors but those will let scammer see eeverything.
