@drwat#166685 Speaking of Gujarat, last night my wife and I watched a YouTube film regarding kite festival in Ahmedabad. Big thing there, huh? Showed participants with cut fingers from the glass laden kite string. Looked like lots of fun.
@drwat#166685 I SPENT 25 minutes with this man at the end I asked how the food at Pizza Parcel was. It’s a pizza place in bhavnagar and his rant was amazing
This is still a live number! They are trying to make themselves sound very legit with recordings stating that you have reached the social security administration and to hold the line for an officer. It came back and said no one was available so I was to try back later. I asked that everybody hits this number hard!
@jaymee#166693 when I was small, I used to grind broken glass and rub the kite string with glue and glass powder. Still have a scar in my finger Lot of fond memories. That was from the flat roof of our home.
@jaymee About Patelco.almost 100% Indian scammers assume Patelco Credit union stands for Patel-Co. Patel is the most common Gujarati family name. They have no idea that the name originated from Pacific Telcom Pactel as you know very well.It is a very good Credit Union, you might agree.
@drwat#166742 It is a very good Credit Union, you might agree.
Indeed, a great credit union. I have been a member of Patelco since 1983 when Pacific Telephone (origin of Patelco) relocated me from El Segundo to San Francisco under their management relocation program. I was an accounting supervisor back then.
I spun a long tale once, saying my wife's family owns a motel in Iowa gave him a link to a motel there, , and I bank with Patelco because her family is one of the founders. Patel - Motels - you know the connection. He swallowed it hook line and sinker.
@drwat#166934 I worked in San Francisco and Bishop Ranch.
Short story. When we moved into Bishop Ranch, construction wasn't completed. I was in the workstation group that managed the LAN. Servers were in the west wing basement, BELOW lake level. Water leaked from the lake. We nicknamed it MarineLAN, in honor of Marineland resort. Eventually they patched the leak, it never recurred even after the big 1989 earthquake.
Claim to fame, I was on the same floor as Scott Adams, author of Dilbert. We knew exactly where he got his inspiration.
@jaymee#166922 I was born in San Francisco and I just love when I hear people refer to it. I’m aware that’s not really relevant here, but I just wanted to feel like I was part of the group!
@Draco#167484 still the best city in the world to me! I’m aware that it certainly has its challenges now, especially with the homeless. It’s actually quite heartbreaking to see what has happened. But the City will always be home to me, and will remain in my heart forever. I STILL cringe when it’s referred to as San Fran or Frisco! Drives me NUTS! I was born at Kaiser on Geary; just in case you were dying to know!
