SSA Scam - 915-615-4175

This one is slightly different - you call and get that recorded message that they normally robo-dial out to the world… where it asks you to press “1” to speak with an agent.

Got a femscammer at first, and I played the "I never received last months check, so I was hoping that was what this call was about" story line. Tried to use the pending case as an excuse, but that didn't explain why I got this months check! That kept them going for a bit until they got too frustrated and hung up.

Second attempt got a Mr. John Watson who kept asking me the same questions as if he didn't quite understand anything I was saying. When he asked me how much I had in my bank account, I told him "I don't know exactly, I guess a couple thousand". He got kind of upset and said to give him a number, one thousand, two thousand, what. I said something like "the term 'COUPLE' generally refers to two... English is not your first language, is it?". That is where he decided to puff his chest out and sound authoritative... "Mr. Gautam, do yo know who you are speaking with? I am a federal officer investigating you and we are on a federally recorded line that will be used as evidence". I simply said 'I don't think so'. Oh man, he hit the roof. I continued on "You are not a federal anything, you just play one on the phone... you have no connection to the SSA, and are just a bottom feeder sitting in a call center over in India trying con me out of money. The FBI or anyone else cannot suspend a social security number, the SSA would not call me to tell me that there is a warrant out for my arrest, I really could use that 22 pounds of cocaine that you made up, and it must be difficult walking around in those clown shoes you have.".

He had no response. Call him up - he's fun! 915-615-4175

Bless your heart. getting dressed to go to the bank now after being transfereted through 3 superior officers.

The 2 sr bakrichods were super paranoid initially, asked for workplace address and everything. Still passed. “20min” away from bank right now

Ok, so almost 2 hours in and 5 minutes away from the bank, one of they said something about pussy and I closed the call. 5 Minutes later they call me and ask to go inside the bank and to call them back. I do so, but tell them the bank “told me you guys were scammers” and then I closed the call.

If they can't behave, they won't get any cards, not even imaginary ones.

Ha - that's been my moto! Asking for work address is a new twist though... seems like they are really trying to weed out the baiters, but haven't quite figured out how to do it yet without dropping real victims in the process. I try to give them as little to go on as possible... I rent my home (no property records to lookup) and have only been there for less than a year, am retired (no work info to lookup), don't own a cell phone (can't keep them online while I go to the bank), always have a valid address they can find on google and always try to use a CID that is unlisted. It's getting harder to stump them though with all the new twists they are adding, but that makes it all the more fun. If one ploy doesn't work, there will be plenty of other opportunities to try another!

@Otis#149267 Agreed. The upside is, the more paranoid they get, the more likely they will also drop real victims. We have to gaslight them and steer them in methods that will ensure they drop more innocent people. A while ago, I used to drop character and poke fun at them, but I realized its more productive to never let them know wtf happened.

Absolutely! I like playing it to the end, and then giving them the bad news without knowing they have been the victim all along. It's hard though, given how stupid most are. What gets me is when they start pulling the 'authority' card, puffing up and acting strong throwing orders at you - at that point, it's just too easy (and satisfying) to burst their bubble and take them down a few notches.

@Otis#149427 Ya, its one of the only cards they can play. Whoever came up with the script was pretty smart, all the power they have is a facade of authority. Otherwise, they are just some high school dropouts sitting behind a phone/ computer voip client.
