I got a Mr. James Cooper who launched into the regular script - south of texas, corolla, 22 pounds cocaine, lots of bank accounts, etc... He started in on how the transferring of money constituted money laundering. I asked him why, and he just said that hundreds of thousands of dollars were transferred inside and outside the country. "But I do that all the time, it's not illegal... heck, $250,000 is a drop in the bucket!". He was dumbfounded and not sure how to proceed. He kept trying to say that transferring the money was illegal and I kept telling him it wasn't... then he said "So this is you that has been transferring the money? And are the drugs yours as well?" . So I told him of course not and we continued on, although from that point on, I started to question everything as if I was getting suspicious that he was a fraud. Then he asked me how often I went to the doctor. WTF? He wanted to know how often I went to the doctor, and who my primary care doctor was! I told him in no uncertain terms that was personal and I wouldn't give him any such information. He insisted that it could be my doctor that stole my identity!! What a hoot.
Anyway, we went back and forth until I finally indicated that I was beginning to think he wasn't really with the SSA. I asked him where he was located and he said Florida. "So, you are in Florida, investigating crimes committed in Texas by someone who lives in Nevada? Now that really sounds suspicious and more like a scam than anything else.". I guess he figured he had been unmasked at that point, so he just hung up on me.
