@MQ9#153803 Very unusual call… Got my pal Benjamin Alpert who was going through all the usual script points. He asked the usual stuff and I was pretty much following the playbook as normal. Told him the last time I was in El Paso was a couple years ago, never lost my wallet, etc… obviously a case of identity theft and they obviously had the wrong person. He went into the 'investigation started…" portion, got about half way through and then said something like “but since you have not been to El Paso in a couple of years, it is obvious it was not you and some others involved in this case. Thank you for your cooperation with this matter, and rest assured we will find the culprits who have done these acts. When we do, or if we have any updates, we will get back in touch with you as needed. Thank you and have a nice day”. Then he hung up.
I have no idea what happened to short circuit the call - I was for the most part playing it straight, and was using a fresh CID and brand new name.
