@TeddyWolfes#94451 There are two things going on. One is to provide a SSN that get validated by online validators. The State of issue should match.
The second is a test of the bluff. The scammer will say why did you provide the "wrong" number. Just styck to it and say let me repeat slowly. 90% of the time they fall for it.
