Same here ... that's all I get. Referred to in the telecom industry as RNA (ring-no-answer)
@MQ9#144598 Dumb as a bag of rocks
Called and talked to a Mr. Andrew Saul, who gave me my case ID before even asking my name or other info. Had a hard time with the name as well - Dr. Mandlebrot Von Schwinagle III, who happens to be a college professor over at the University of Maryland - teaches Astrophysics and Rutabaga analysis at the senior level
Usual script stuff, nothing really off the rails. Threw a couple of questions at him that he couldn’t answer, but like a trooper, he just dug in and continued with the script. Eventually passed me off to the DEA.
At first, I got a Karen Tandy. She asked me my name and told me to wait a second while she pulls up my records. Was on hold for a couple of minutes, when the line gets picked up by everyones favorite DEA agent, Mr. Preston Grubbs (sp?). Gave him my name, which he struggled a lot on, so I told him that he could just call me Manny, as that is what most people do. So, he went into the usual stuff, asked about losing my wallet, people who may have my info, suspicious of anyone, etc... I told him that I was a bit suspicious of the teller at my bank, but I didn't know his name. He was asking some personal questions a few months ago that raised a flag for me. I think his first name was Ramon and he was obviously of Spanish descent, but that was all I could tell about him.
Not sure why, but that apparently triggered something with Preston... he said something like he needed to convey that information to his superiors so they can conduct further investigation, and he would have to call me back in a few minutes. I don't have a call back number, so I told him that I was out the door to run some errands, and if he was going to call me back, it would have to be in a few hours when I return. He said that was fine, thanked me and hung up. Darn it, it gives you the same feeling you get when fishing and that big one you hooked managed to wiggle off or break the line and get away. Oh well... there are plenty more fish in the ocean!
I talked to someone on June 19, 2020 around 2-something p.m. EST.
