They worked late today. I got Officer Jack Maple, Badge: JM484806, My Case # DMC7010. Got transferred to Officer Brian Cornwall, Badge ID 11765.
I acted compliant, so I was able to be on the line with them for 1 hour 35 minutes, including my meal break while "driving" to Wells Fargo Bank. Many thanks to scambaitsoundboard.com for the driving sounds in the background. Went through the usual script, was able to get $3,000 in cash. Was instructed to drive to the Target Store, street address provided by Cornwall from the zip code I gave him. Successfully bought 6 $500 Target gift cards, yes the red one with the white circle. Oops, I accidentally disconnected the call at the 1:35 mark; my bad.
I called back, a lady answered, and was transferred back to Brian Cornwall. I had to make up a story about my phone dying, and had to borrow my daughter's cell (she works at Target - my earlier story). He seemed in a hurry, it was already 4:00 PM PST, way past quitting time for most SSA scammers. I was supposed to hand the cards to two SSA officers at the local SSA office, so I started the car and got on the freeway. Mr Cornwall got frantic! He wants to complete the verification process by reading to him the "verification" number. I had to exit the freeway, but wanted some background music, so I told him I'll turn on the radio and play the music. Here's the ~5 minute "reveal" when I called back. The last 8 seconds or so is the background music. Officer hang up, so he probably didn't like it.
