@MQ9#159999 Got a Mr. John Miller… asked for full info - name, address, dob, ssn, etc… I gave him the last 4 of my social and he seemed to be OK with that. Then after I gave him all the info, he put me on hold to ‘check it’. About 30 seconds later, he hung up. I called back and got him again… couldn’t explain why he hung up, and then started asking me all the info again because we got disconnected and he didn’t get any of my previous info. Yeah, right. Anyway, he then told me that my SSN was invalid. Hmmm… I only gave him the last 4 digits, so wtf? I asked about that and he said the four digits I gave him were not a valid SSN and he needed the full number.
Usual speech ensued about how the SSA would never ask for the full number, that is how people get their identity stolen, SSA has 'do not give SSN' all over their web site, how he much be an fake if asking for the full number, etc...

I called this number (240-371-0838) and now my heart’s broken: a really nice guy told me that it was a scam before the scam could even start, he kept on apologizing, so I offered him a few words of comfort, and he kept on saying stuff like “thank you, I really needed it”.
These people don’t know how to get money, and sadly this is the only job they can get. I really feel so bad for this guy, he deserves way better.
Obviously not all of them are good honest people, but some are, and I understand they just can’t do anything about.
