SSA scam (214) 317-4575

Seems 2-3 scammers active at this place

@drwat#138124 Got a Mr. Travis Wilson, #2801852 - Case ID: KL79462. Things were going along just fine until he told me that there were hundreds of people with my name that had the same last 4 SSN digits! I simply stated “Oh, that’s Bullshit”. He asked me to repeat what I said, so I did. He said “Well sir, if you think it’s Bullshit, then just hang up the phone and wait for the police to show up at your door”, but then he hung up and now won’t answer my call :frowning:

Rings and rings then cuts off switched number

@Draco#138140 I believe this is a small operation, as I did not hear any noise in the background while talking to him. And it took forever for him to pick up initially, so he might just be swamped with calls coming in from us :slight_smile:

@Otis#138139 Typical response

@Draco#138140 Same…I guess they are taking a samosa break!

@ScamChod#138159 Took a good long while, but Mr. Wilson finally answered again. This time it was Granny from Montana calling and she wasn’t putting up with any BS from this guy. Again, he claimed that there were over 100 people with the same first and last name that had the same last 4 digits of their SSN. Of course, that is mathematically impossible, and Granny just happens to be a retired college professor of Mathematics! She pointed out the obvious, and then informed him that even so, she would never give out her full SSN as everyone has warned her about doing so, and it even says so on the SSA web site - and at 70, she is very familiar with the SSA!

He was about to hang up (after the usual 'cops are on their way' routine) when she said "Shame on you sir, you are just a criminal Indian scammer trying to steal money from poor old ladies. Shame on you sir and your fraud, you should be ashamed of yourself". He paused and asked what I said again, so Granny really laid into him, and then threw in the "Karma is going to get you - something terrible is going to happen to you - very terrible things - Bad, Bad, Bad things sir, and you will deserve every bit of it!". He probably regrets not hanging up when he was first going to!

Now SSA seems to be department of Health and Human Services, asking for my bank account for corona relief moneys.

Ok, now asking for CC info and recovery questions.

@vadim#138174 YES - that’s what I got, too. He answered Department of Health and Human Services. When I said I’m returning a message about Social Security, he hung up on me. Glad to know, I’ll change my approach. So far, they stopped answering but I’ll keep on trying.

I’m still on the call with them, they are trying to hijack my credit card login, they asked for mother’s maiden name, social, etc…

Ok, they are in Gujarat, in Dwarka, India.

@JusticeinTexas#138220

Hey Justice, how can I get to reply on forum without moderator approving my posts?

@vadim#138229 You must post valid numbers and be here for awhile. Someone will eventually approve you. Hope that helps.

Patience, grasshopper. :-)

@jaymee#138240 I just called that 915-444-0906 number and a grumpy guy answered. All I did was say “Hello”, and right back at me he said, in a long drawn out way with pauses between each word “Who the F are you … man”?

I said, "Hello, is this Social Security" and he hung up. Now it just goes to voice mail. Guess they are calling it quits for the day as they have dropped all pretense of being SSA or whatever.

@Otis#138250 Text Now unavailable oh well…

I got a similar call from (402) 207-0350 402-207-0350 | 14022070350 - Phone Scam Alert! - Nomorobo This could be scary for grandma. I blocked them.
