SSA scam 202-697-9975

Got robocall this morning from fake SSA. Number is active at this time

One ring hang

Dwight Schrute got through earlier and the Bhen Chod hung up when I asked him to explain each and everything at this right moment five times. Guess he wasn’t in the mood for Dwight

@drwat#144114 This one is much togher. Its one of the screeners I’ve met from the previous week. If they didn’t call you, they will tell you that and close the call. It seems sporadic as they turn off the phone if they are getting bombarded too hard. Anthony from life protect 24/7 tried his best.

@drwat#144114 Played them for about an hour and a half… first hit Mr. Ryan Picks, then Mr. Victor Franks. They went through the script and then passed off to the Senior DEA agent, Mr. Mark Benson. I had them tied up in knots, as I was posing as the “Reverend” Pennypacker, who was the pastor for the Holy Roller Church of Evangelical Mediocrity. This brought about all sorts of situations… such as all of the bank accounts were under the churches name. A quick call to the bookkeeper turned up that there were something like 27 accounts across 9 banks, although the Rev. did happen to have a personal account. But when they tried to tie the church accounts to the Rev., he wouldn’t have none of that and made sure they realized they were separate so them ‘government fingers’ couldn’t reach in and snatch the ‘proceeds of the lord’. The Rev. of course had no idea about his own bank information as whenever he needed anything, the church would provide it for him. This completely threw mr. Benson off, even though he was a ‘senior’ officer, so he passed the call off to a Mr. John Jeager, who was with the Department of Treasury of Texas! He was a barrel of fun (not), as he had the personality of a wet rag. Sounded like he was constantly picking something from his teeth, and basically was just a cold asshole about everything.

After about an hour and a half, I was getting tired of this cold fish Mr. Jeager, so I just decided to spill the beans on him. I told him that they could not suspend my SSN, regardless of how much he insisted, and he then went into the speech about how he was just there "to help me", and I could always face being arrested, hiring my own attorney and fighting a long and drawn out battle in court, etc....

So I pulled out a "Recent correspondence from the SSA" where it clearly has printed on the back of the envelope: "!SCAM ALERT! Scammers are pretending to be government employees. They may threaten you and may demand immediate payment to avoid arrest or other legal action. Do not be fooled!"

And I told him, "So Mr. Jeager - I am not going to be fooled. You are simply a low life scammer and I have been able to waste over an hour and a half of your time for nothing. You are not going to suspend my SSN, I'm not going to hire an attorney or go to court or face on single legal action regarding your made up case and bullshit charges. I'm frankly quite tired hearing about that 22 pounds of cocaine which, by the way, isn't just an 'abusive' drug, but it's F-ing ILLEGAL you dip shit. So now that the cat is out of the bag, do you have anything else to add to our conversation on this 'Federally Recorded Line'?". Silence. Not a word. Just a blank phone line with the usual background noises. Then just to add insult, I said "Well, just so you know, I have been recording this as well, so it can be put on YouTube for the entertainment of others as well. Ladies and gentlemen, there you have it, Mr. John Jeager in all his glory unable to utter a single word at this point. Thank you all for playing along, and until next time - keep fooling the foolers!". And at that point I hung up.

I really should record some of these ;)

@Otis#144145 Lucky you got through. The line seems dead. I will check in a few hours.
