It seems fate brought me and the 2 SSA scammers together, once again. First we met in the wild fields of the Alaska Walgreens Parking lot, long long ago. Then we met again on the Spokane Target Parking Lot, asking me to purchase Nike Gift Cards, probably to replace their broken shoes. Each of those calls ended at 10PM PST. Now they came back for a 3rd long long night.
Enter me, Robert McNamara (This guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_McNamara )
We begin our 6 hour journey in peaceful Stow, Massachusets. After running through the scam setup, we drive to the bank, which is still open due to an extended schedule for COVID support.
We then proceed to the Walgreens, which is of course closed due to COVID. Oh what the COVID giveth and the COVID taketh away!
We then venture out to Target, which is conveniently 1 hour away. (In this time, I go and do my dishes)
We enter Target, where I conveniently take 1 hour to fumble around, and finally find the gift card section.
We get back in the car with the 3 Target Gift Cards. Our heroes are so close to verifying the funds and finishing the scamvestigation. However, who could have seen it coming, another delay pops up! -I loudly realize my reading glasses are in my desk at home-.
We drive back to my house, 1hr away. 5 minutes away from home, another delay pops up, An accident ahead of us has the highway blocked. We need to take another 30 minute detour.
Finally, we reach home. I go change and conveniently take another 15min. Now that I have my glasses, I start loudly reading the card, and following the instructions on the back. I create a Target account
I loudly start putting in the numbers (I have a mechanical keyboard I keep around). The first scammer proceeds to rage mildly. The second one thinks he remembers me, and starts mentioning the Nike gift cards he asked me to purchase in Spokane. I pretend to not even hear him, as I tell him I am doing my best to cooperate with the federal governmnt. The process ends with a few back and forth calls, with them cursing me out for my mistake of registering 2 out of 3 gift cards. They threaten me with jail, and magistration (whatever that means)
I am innocent, I was just following orders!
Recording comings, I need a few more accounts, as I am still over my weekly upload limit

@jaymee#167634 They have a special place on my list. They stayed with me 3-4 times until 10PM east, only one of the two scammer groups that I managed to pull this off with. (Dominic being the other contender.) I will upload just the ending, as the main content of the 6hr audio is me playing VW beetle engine sounds, and banging the microphone on the TV stand (it sounds like I shut/close a car/house door.) I was so tempted to break character, and go for a reveal after they remembered Spokane and the shoe cards, but held through. They do not deserve the luxury of knowing they’ve been played.
@vadim#167640 Does anyone have an excel or database of known scammers and their numbers?
drwat probably has. I started one a few months ago, when I decided to specialize in SSA. However, when numbers started to have a half life on one day, I got lazy and didn't keep up. I still jot down names and numbers on a dedicated notebook, though. I'm just more handy with a piece of paper and pen. Ha ha.
